Mammography is the basic method of examination for women over 40<\/strong>. It is performed on special X-ray machines (mammographs) using soft X-rays.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each breast is pictured standing up from two different angles<\/strong> and is slightly compressed between the pad and the compression plate. It may seem to you A little<\/strong> uncomfortable, but it shouldn't be painful. Squeezing the breast hard enough is necessary for\u00a0achieving a quality image<\/strong> and reduce the radiation dose.<\/p>\n

The resulting mammographic images are Immediately<\/strong> sent to a doctor for evaluation. If the image is clear enough and there are no suspicious changes, your examination is complete.

When you arrive for your appointment. select a serial number<\/strong> and wait for your number to appear on the screen. You can enjoy a snack from the vending machine or read the daily newspapers while you wait.<\/p>\n

In the mammography waiting room, you sit down and wait for your number to be called<\/strong>that you chose when you arrived.<\/p>\n

After the mammogram, you will get dressed and sit in the waiting room to wait for the results. Read more the examination and the result takes approximately 30 minutes<\/strong>. While you wait for your result, the doctors carefully examine and describe your images.<\/p>\n

You will receive the result of the examination in the results room<\/strong>, which you can enter by dialling your number.<\/p>\n

In some cases, your mammogram may need to be supplemented with an ultrasound. This is a standard procedure<\/strong>.
