Alternative diagnostic methods

In order for your densitometry to be reimbursed by your health insurance company, the following requirements must be met:

• You have a referral from your doctor for densitometry when osteoporosis is suspected or you're already being treated for it.
• Examination on request must not be required under the Preventive Population Programme -diagnosis Z13.9
• You have valid health insurance with one of the following health insurance companies - OZP, ČPZP, ZPŠ, VoZP

In other cases the woman pays for the examination herself According to the valid price list

Every woman from the age of 40 can come for a preventive examination. However, only if certain conditions are met, your mammogram is covered by your health insurance: 

• You are more than 45 years old
• It has been more than 2 years since your last mammogram.
• You have a referral from your gynecologist or general practitioner for a preventive (screening) mammogram.
• You have a valid health insurance.

In other cases, the woman pays for the examination herself according to the valid price list

Younger women preventive ultrasound examination for a fee.

Preventive ultrasound examination NOT GUARANTEED by the health insurance company!  

The examination must be paid according to the valid price list.
